Back in 1936, a group of people were skiing the famous Mount Mansfield (Stowe) of Vermont. Frank Lang, Minnie Dole, and others were enjoying a day of skiing when Minnie Dole fell and broke his ankle. Faced with an emergency situation and extrication, the group needed to provide medical care and transposition to the injured skier.
Hence, the formation of ski patrols!
